And now for something completely different.
I recently accepted an invitation to participate in the June 2016 Majestic Theater Gallery Exhibition show entitled: Rhythm & Movement. While being part of the show was normal…what I created was far from the norm. It’s the first piece of art I’ve created in many years without a mandala or mandala theme.
Every time I thought about this show and what I’d paint, I kept seeing the same image: red satin pointe shoes with the red ribbons twisting and turning in the air. Trusting my inner vision, I followed through.
Here is my progress through my 8×20 watercolor painting entitled: “Shall We Dance?”
I’m very excited about how this turned out and look forward to other opportunities to stretch my creativity.
And here’s a interesting piece of news. When I delivered this piece, I noticed other pieces already up on the wall. One of them was a beautiful mandala painted on a large piece of black linen.
The exhibit is up through the end of June and can be viewed Wednesday – Friday, noon-5 pm and during performances.
Happy Coloring!
joyfully, Maureen
