Space Oddities – Day 8

This is Day 8 of the continuing saga of the creation of the “Space Oddities” project for the 2010 da Vinci Days Avenue of Imagination Community Art Project.

Here I’m Masking the Back Side to prepare it for spray painting.

I spray painted The Base with black paint.

I spray painted The Back Side with black paint.

After another coat of black paint and removal of the paper, The Back Side is Revealed.

Using a black marker, I painted a Black Outline all over the body.  This is the right side view.

Here’s The Front Side Outline.  It’s now coming to life.

Here’s The Left Side View.  I modeled this rocket after a 1960’s samba volkswagen van, which, to me, is the most interesting of all their vans.

Using acrylic paint, The Blue Begins.  I cut in around all the edges.

Here’s the Back Side of Blue cut in.
