Book Bin Bookstore Window Project June 14 – July 5
Today I painted for 2 hours; continued working on the yellow sections. As promised from yesterday’s post, the colors I’ve used thus far:
M. Grahams & Co. Acrylic Paints: Titanium White, Cadmium Yellow Light, Cadmium Yellow, Cadmium Red Light, and Dioxazine Purple.
I rotated this shot about 75 degrees to make it all fit in the lens. I completed the lower diamonds and the four corner pieces.

In case you’re interested, I’m using a dabbing style of stroke. I lay down a base color, which for this section is cad. yellow lt., then dab the other colors in gradient levels.

Unfortunately, this shot is a little blurry however you can still make out the dabs of color. For the corner sections, I’m using cad. yellow lt, white, and dioxazine purple. In the lower right, I’m also using cad. red med, and cad. yellow.

I took this photo as I left for the day. It gives you a better perspective of the painting size and how it fits on the canvas. I have to admit, I’m really enjoying painting this mandala.

This particular mandala design, “Bangles”, is in my “Child’s Play” Mandala Coloring Book. You can view a slide show of the coloring book on http://www.TheMandalaLady.com web site. Look for “Child’s Play” under the “Symmetry” section.
Happy Coloring!
